Thomas Atkins

President & CEO and Director

Mr. Atkins is an accomplished mining executive who, over the past 38 years, has successfully led and financed exploration, development, and production companies and projects throughout the Americas. He holds a degree in geology from McMaster University and an MBA from Ivey Business School. Mr. Atkins has experience leading grassroots exploration through feasibility studies, development to production, underground and open-pit projects, corporate and investment banking, investor relations, corporate development, corporate governance, and for the past 20 years has served as the CEO of four publicly listed companies. As a Director of Investment Banking for CIBC World Markets, Mr. Atkins participated in raising over $1.7 billion in equity and debt for numerous small to large capitalization companies and advised on various M&A mandates. As a senior executive of small to large capitalization international mining companies, he has been responsible for planning, executing, and communicating both short and long-term corporate objectives and raising capital for such initiatives. Before his appointment as CEO of Mammoth Resources in 2013, Mr. Atkins held the position of CEO at War Eagle Mining (now Kirkland Lake Discoveries), Rockex Ltd. (now Rockex Mining, CSE-listed iron ore company), Castle Gold Corp. (TSX-listed gold producer, acquired in 2010 by Argonaut Gold), and Crowflight Minerals Inc. (TSX-listed nickel exploration and development company).


Richard Simpson, BSc. Geo

VP, Exploration

Mr. Simpson is a Professional Geologist with more than 25 years of exploration experience throughout Latin America. He is a graduate from the Universite de Montreal with a B.Sc. in Geology and has a strong background in grassroots, advanced-project, and mine-site exploration. Mr. Simpson has worked for several companies, both majors, such as Iamgold and Cambior, and juniors, including Normabec, as an exploration geologist throughout South America and Mexico. This international experience has provided him with exposure to many geological settings and mineralization processes (lateritic profiles, gold/copper porphyries, epithermal systems and skarns). In addition to his experience in Latin America early in his career, he worked in Northern Quebec (Abitibi area), Manitoba and Nunavut on numerous VMS and precious metal projects for Noranda and Aur Resources.
